Whatever Josh and Shauna have time to write about. :)
Josh and Shauna were married on August 19th, 2006, in the Oakland, CA, temple for time and all eternity. We currently live in Clinton, UT, where we bought our first house! We were in Provo, UT, where Shauna graduated from BYU in Elementary Education in 2007. She taught 3rd grade for 3 years, and is now a stay-at-home mom with Jonathan, who was born in October, 2010. Josh graduated from BYU in April 2009 with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. He currently works for the U.S. Air Force as an electronics engineer at Hill AFB, UT.
How We Met Many moons ago, when we were both in high school, Josh's good friend (we'll call him "Seth") went to the same EFY session as Shauna (Especially For Youth is an LDS youth conference). They happened to be in the same group. Upon returning home to Las Vegas (where Josh is from), Seth hounded Josh to email this "really cute girl" he met. Josh finally did, and for some reason, Shauna wrote back. We immediately became penpals thanks to the modern technology of instant messaging and emails. We would 'talk' about anything and everything, from dating advice to politics. This friendship lasted for years without us ever meeting in person or even talking on the phone. Shauna wrote Josh regularly on his full-time mission for the Church. After Josh returned in December of '04, Shauna decided it was high-time we met. We finally did in March of '05 and instantly hit it off. Thus began a long-distance relationship of phone calls and semi-regular, monthly visits. After much convincing, Josh transferred to BYU from UNLV the following January. Josh proposed on Saint Patrick's Day that year, 2006 (our "lucky day"). That summer, Shauna returned to her home in San Jose and we didn't see each other until one week before we were married. It was hard, but worth it! |
